FIMR is a community-owned program, supported by CAPS, that brings people together to prevent fetal and infant deaths. Through the work of the Case Review Team, which reviews each case, and the Community Action Team, which turns those lessons into action, FIMR helps build stronger, more supportive systems for local families.
Case Review Team brings together healthcare professionals, first responders, and others to review individual cases of infant death or stillbirth. They examine a wide range of factors like social, economic, medical, and environmental to determine what could have been done differently to prevent the infant loss.
Community Action Team includes local leaders and service providers. They take the Case Review Team’s findings and turn them into real solutions to help families and prevent future losses.
