The need for timely mental health support continues to be a common concern across our community. CAPS & Maple City is pleased to share that we currently have capacity for new Behavioral Health patients, including children and adolescents.

Our team provides in-person individual therapy and group-based services for children, teens, and adults experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma responses, school avoidance, ADHD, family stress, adjustment reactions, emotional or behavioral concerns, and acute safety needs.

When to Consider a Referral

A Behavioral Health referral may be appropriate when emotional, behavioral, or family concerns are beginning to affect daily life at home, school, work, or in relationships.

Support can be especially helpful for families navigating a new ADHD diagnosis. Therapy can help reduce stigma, build confidence, strengthen relationships, and give children and caregivers practical tools for communication and coping.

Why Early Support Matters

For children and adolescents, early intervention can make a meaningful difference by helping address concerns before they become more disruptive.

“Our Child and Adolescent Therapy Team consists of incredibly kind, compassionate, and skilled therapists,” shared Emily Welch, LCSW at CAPS & Maple City. “We try to create fun and playful spaces where children can feel safe and offer a wide variety of approaches to our work.”

She has seen children struggling with separation anxiety build confidence and return to consistent school attendance, and children recovering from trauma regain a sense of safety at home.

What to Expect

The first appointment focuses on helping the patient and family get comfortable with the therapist and completing an initial evaluation. The therapist will learn more about current concerns, strengths, supports, family and school life, and day-to-day functioning, then work with the patient and family to identify goals and next steps.

How to Make a Partner Referral

Referral Partners can begin the process by calling our Patient Access Line at 574-534-3300. When calling, identify your organization and let the team know you are making a Partner Referral.

If the patient or family calls on their own, they should provide the name of the organization that referred them so the referral can be identified appropriately.

Behavioral Health appointments can typically be scheduled within two weeks, and often sooner.
